Gonda: Janmashtami was celebrated with devotion and spiritual fervour at the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya service centre in Parspur, Gonda. A beautifully decorated tableau depicting Lord Krishna and Radha was presented as part of the celebrations, while devotees and visitors participated in the aarti and offered their prayers.
Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Anamika Didi was the main speaker at the programme. Addressing the gathering, she explained the spiritual significance of Janmashtami and said that the birth of Lord Krishna should not be viewed only as a historical event but also as a symbol of the birth of truth, love and purity within every human being.
She said that when negative tendencies represented by lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego are overcome, peace and happiness can emerge in an individual’s life. Drawing attention to the traditional description of Lord Krishna as being complete with 16 divine qualities, she said that the practice of Rajyoga meditation can help individuals cultivate positive and elevated qualities in their daily lives.
A large number of local residents attended the programme and participated in Rajyoga meditation. The gathering also included devotional activities and the presentation of the Radha-Krishna tableau.
The programme concluded with the distribution of prasad among the participants.
